Terms of use · Last updated 30 July 2026
The sensible rules, with minimal legal fog.
These terms apply when you use the Reflux Queen website. By continuing to use it, you agree to them. They are here to protect both of us—not to hide an unexpected claim to your firstborn somewhere in paragraph 47.
First, the important bit
Recipes, not medical advice.
Reflux Queen is operated by Hannah Gledhill Farnes and provides recipes, cooking ideas and general information based on recipe development and lived experience.
I am not a doctor, dietitian or other healthcare professional. Nothing on this site diagnoses, treats, cures or prevents any condition, and it should not replace individual medical advice.
“Reflux-friendly” means a recipe has been thoughtfully designed around common triggers. Reflux is highly individual, so it is not a promise that a recipe will suit every person or never cause symptoms. Your oesophagus, regrettably, has not signed these terms.
Ingredients and allergies
Check every ingredient label and assess recipes against your own allergies, intolerances, medical needs and known triggers. Product ingredients and manufacturing methods can change, and substitutions may alter the allergen profile. If you have a serious allergy or medical dietary requirement, obtain appropriate professional advice.
Food safety
Use sound judgement and follow current food-safety guidance, including safe storage, hygiene and cooking temperatures. Appliances vary, so timings are a guide; make sure food is safely cooked before serving.
Measurements and substitutions
Conversions, serving adjustments, nutrition figures and timings may be approximate. Results can vary with ingredients, equipment, altitude, substitutions and the mysterious temperament of ovens. You are responsible for deciding whether a substitution is suitable.
Urgent or persistent symptoms
Seek appropriate medical help for new, severe or persistent symptoms. Do not delay care because of something you have read—or a particularly persuasive bowl of katsu noodles—on this website.
Using my work
Copyright and sharing
Unless stated otherwise, the recipes, writing, photography, branding, design and other original content on this site belong to Hannah Gledhill Farnes and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
You may use a recipe privately, print it for personal use and share a link to its page. Please do not republish a full recipe, copy photographs, scrape the site, remove credits, sell the content, train a commercial dataset on it or present it as your own without prior written permission.
If you would like to feature, license or adapt something commercially, email hannah@refluxqueen.co.uk. Asking nicely remains wildly underrated.
The site may link to third-party websites for convenience. I do not control their content, security, availability or privacy practices, and a link does not necessarily mean I endorse everything found there.
I try to keep the site accurate and available, but cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted, error-free or completely up to date. I may change, suspend or remove content, recipes or features without notice.
You must not misuse the site, attempt unauthorised access, introduce malicious code, interfere with its operation or use automated systems in a way that places an unreasonable load on it.
Liability
The fair legal boundary
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights.
Subject to that, the site and its free content are provided for general information and personal use. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I am not responsible for loss or damage arising from reliance on the content, unsuitable ingredients or substitutions, cooking results, third-party services, or temporary unavailability of the site.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, although if you live elsewhere in the UK you may also have rights to bring a claim in your local courts.
I may update these terms when the site or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version; continued use of the site after an update means the revised terms apply.
